Review of 'Adapted for Film' by Stacey Rourke

Adapted For Film

by Stacey Rourke

Publication date: March 9th 2015
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Synopsis:

Aubrey Evans is living every author’s dream; her sizzling romance novel is being turned into a blockbuster film. She would be celebrating this momentous event, if she wasn’t busy fighting over every tiny production detail with the maddeningly cavalier director, Kole Camden.

When news of their heated rivalry hits the gossip columns, drastic measures must be taken to save their sinking project. In an elaborate PR hoax, she is publicly linked to Greyson Meyers, the swoon-worthy star of her movie. A whirl-wind love affair is staged for the couple to mirror the steamy chapters of her own books.

Can the introverted author resist the charms of Hollywood’s sexiest leading man? Or will love find her in the City of Angels?

**My thoughts**

I have been a fan of Stacey Rourke from the very beginning of her publishing career. Her books always keep me glued to my Kindle from start to finish, as well as laughing out loud and snorting in public. I was hoping for the same from her first adult contemporary romance offering, and wasn't disappointed.

The chemistry between Aubrey and Kole sizzles from Aubrey's very first faux pas. There is also pleasantly enough between her and Greyson, despite their relationship being a facade. I was almost a little jealous for a while!

Aubrey is spunky and witty, despite being an introverted author. I long to have her sharp tongue, let alone ability to write bestselling novels! She also has an amazing best friend and is living every author's dream.

Kole is the blubbering hottie, who is just as stubborn and determined. Greyson is the sexy movie star who can have whomever and whatever he wants. In some ways, I was rooting for her to make it with either one of them.

Through the story, Aubrey also goes through an immense period of growth and change, truly coming into her own, despite being an adult. That aspect of the story actually surprised me, in some ways, because you don't always get that in a romance. The other characters also seem to mature and learn more about themselves and life.

This book had it all for me. Hot leading men, a woman with beauty and brains, a sizzling romance, and plenty of comedic wit to make it feel totally realistic. Stacey hit this one out of the park, and I hope she continues to write in this genre!
