Review of 'The Marriage Fix' by Sandra Edwards

By Sandra Edwards

Lecie de Laurent is dying to cut the apron strings and strike out on her own. With the house and the money she's inherited from Edouard Renault, she finally has her chance without financial repercussions from Papa. California is an intoxicating place for the sheltered, high society girl from France, and she's not ready to leave when her father insists she return home. Lecie's father, Maurice de Laurent is a powerful man who will stop at nothing to get what he wants--just ask her brothers, Julian and Andre. When Maurice threatens to have Lecie deported (thinking she'll come home), Lecie retaliates in true de Laurent fashion.

Nick Matthews desperately needs cash, after his fiancée leaves him deeply in debt the day before their wedding. On the verge of losing his popular restaurant, Nick decides to seek out an investor to help pay off the debt.

The answer to both their problems just might be wrapped up in The Marriage Fix.

**My thoughts**

This was a cute, short and easy romantic novella that is easy to read in one evening. It's a typical story of a marriage of convenience, created out of money, that ends up working itself out. There aren't any racy sex scenes, for those who do not like that. There's just enough romance to make you dream of being just as fortunate as these two.

I hated Ginny from the start. Her ulterior motives were obvious from the very beginning. Nick is extremely likeable. We could all use a kind, loving, and generous man like him in our lives. Lecie is also likeable, but I did feel like I was missing part of her personality in the story. We get to know Nick so well, I would love to know more about her. I would also love to know more of their story, even after this novella is over!bo
