'Mark of the Witch' Book Tour - Review and Giveaway

MARK OF THE WITCH

Magic flows through Jillian Proctor's veins as surely as blood, but so far her life outside Boston has been peaceful. William Morgan blows into Jilly's life like a hurricane, unleashing her magic and sending her out of control. Unknowingly, William brings an enemy who only wants to posses the power of the witch. Jilly must learn to harness her magic before she loses it - and everything in her life is destroyed.

**My thoughts**

This book captured my attention immediately from the beginning. It was hard for me to put it down. Jilly is willing to embrace her status as a witch. Her twin sister Caroline, however, fights it with all of her might. Their mother is taken from them when they are still young, further dividing their family. Caroline returns home after finding out that her husband is cheating on her and gets sucked into the world of the witches. Rebuilding her relationship with her sister is a huge driving force in this novel that really spoke to me. A lot of the story is focused on this.

William is a perfect match for Jilly. I have to say, though, that I am always wary of men who appear so quickly. Sometimes there is more there than meets the eye. We shall hope that he remains a positive force in Jilly's life. He does have a past that is now threatening Jilly in a very dark way. I like the connection to the past history of witches in New England.

When you get to the end, you hope that those who remain are going to live happily ever after. Instead, you are left with a cliffhanger that tells you they're only just beginning on their adventures. It looks like there is more to come in this series. I look forward to reading it.
